Bi-Annual Flight Review
To keep current, every 2 years you must complete a Flight Review. A BFR contains at least 1 hour of Ground and at least 1 hour of Flight time. Gomez Aviation is happy to offer BFR services at a competitive rate of $60 per hour.
A Flight Review consists of a refresher of ground knowledge, recent changes, or anything else related to continued safe and fun flying! The flight portion consists of an ACS oriented training flight, with a cross country plan and diversion, flight maneuvers (stalls, slow flight, steep turns, emergency procedures), and some takeoffs and landings. Since every pilot uses their certificate differently, the scenarios change from pilot to pilot. A BFR is a great opportunity to learn something you may have not known before and to keep your skills sharp and PAVE the way to continued safe, fun flying!
If you would like to schedule a BFR with or without your airplane, please don't hesitate to contact us!
Instrument Proficiency Check (IPC)
If you have not kept up with your 6 HITS, you'll need to satisfactorily complete an Instrument Proficiency Check. There is no minimum ground or flight time requirement unlike a BFR, however there are required tasks that must be completed per the Instrument Rating ACS. A good rule of thumb is to expect around 1-2 hours for ground review, and around an hour of flight time to complete the required flight tasks. A portion of the IPC can be accomplished in an AATD, the Circle To Land and Landing tasks must be completed in the actual Airplane.
Required Tasks for the Flight Portion of the IPC are:
-
Holding Procedures
-
Unusual Attitudes
-
Intercepting and Tracking Navigation Sources (VOR, ILS, GPS)
-
Precision Approach, Non Precision Approach, Missed Approach, Circle to Land approach
-
Emergency Procedures (Partial Panel for ASEL)
Gomez Aviation offers IPCs with or without your own airplane at a competitive rate of $60 per hour. If you'd like to schedule an IPC, please reach out to us!
