Accessibility Statement

Gomez Aviation wants everyone who is thinking about learning to fly to be able to read about it, compare costs, and get in touch, whatever device or assistive technology they use. This statement explains what has been done, where the site falls short, and how to tell us when something does not work for you.
The Standard We Work To
gomezaviation.com is designed to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including low vision, blindness, hearing loss, limited movement, cognitive limitations, and photosensitivity.
We believe the site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA: the content we write and build ourselves meets the guidelines as far as we have been able to test, and the exceptions we know about are listed below. We do not claim full conformance for content supplied by third parties.
What We Have Done
- Every page is built with semantic HTML: one main heading, headings in order, landmark regions for the header, navigation, main content, and footer, and real lists, tables, and description lists for structured content.
- Everything can be operated with a keyboard alone. A “Skip to main content” link is the first Tab stop on every page, focus is always visible, and the contact form opens as a dialog that keeps focus inside it and returns focus to the button that opened it when it closes.
- Text and interactive elements meet or exceed the WCAG contrast minimums on both the dark and light sections of the site, and color is never the only way information is conveyed.
- Images carry descriptive alternative text; purely decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
- Form fields have visible labels, required fields say so, and the contact form reports success or errors in text that screen readers announce.
- Pages work at 200% zoom and on small screens without horizontal scrolling, and buttons and links meet minimum touch-target sizes.
- Animations are limited to short transitions, and smooth scrolling is switched off for visitors who have asked their system to reduce motion.
- No content flashes, auto-plays, or moves on its own, and nothing is locked behind a time limit.
- The core content of every page, including program details, rates, and contact information, is available without JavaScript. Only the cost calculator and the contact form need it; email and phone always work as alternatives.
Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, some parts of the site depend on services we do not control. In each case there is an equivalent way to get the same information.
Google Maps embed
The map on the home page is provided by Google and its controls are outside our control. The street address and a plain-text directions link are provided next to it so nobody depends on the map.
Google reviews
Review links open Google’s own pages, which have their own accessibility characteristics. The rating and review count are stated in text on this site.
Contact form delivery
The contact form is delivered by Web3Forms. The form itself is built and tested here; if it ever fails, calling or emailing works just as well.
Brand typography
Headings use a condensed display typeface for brand reasons. Body text and all instructional content use a standard typeface, and the browser’s zoom and reader modes are fully supported.
How We Test
Accessibility is checked by self-evaluation. Every page is run through automated testing (Lighthouse, built on the axe-core rules) before it goes live, and changes to navigation, forms, and layout are checked by hand with a keyboard alone and at 200% zoom on both phone-sized and desktop screens.
The site is built to work with current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge, and with the screen readers and magnifiers that ship with Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. It relies on HTML and CSS for all content; JavaScript is used only for the cost calculator and the contact form.
